Ahead of their one-year dating anniversary, which the music producer says is around Gomez’s July 22 birthday, Blanco revealed details about his Valentine’s Day plan, which involved renting out a movie theater so they could be alone.
“I want to do something that she loves,” Blanco told Stern, 70, recalling the romantic day. “She loves movies, so I rented out a movie theater. And she loves a comfortable couch, so I took out the seats and we put like a huge couch in the front.”
“I was like, ‘What are all her favorite foods?’ ” he continued. “I spoke with her grandma, I spoke with her mom, her best friend and this is what I came up with.”
Blanco then recalled how he prepared tons of snacks for their Valentine’s Day movie date, including homemade fried pickles that he prepared onsite (“I brought a deep fryer”), items from Taco Bell, Hot Cheetos and “movie theater nachos.”
“I brought in a nacho machine, and then we watched — you know, her favorite movie growing up was Almost Famous, so we watched Almost Famous, we ate the f—ing nachos and that’s what she loves,” he said. “She’s, like, the easiest.”
“People always said this to me, when you know you meet your best friend, she truly is my best friend,” Blanco said, joking that he has to get his act together when Stern asked if he’ll be proposing to his girlfriend soon.
Selena Gomez made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night during an evening when Kimmel was off, and her Only Murders In The Building co-star Martin Short filled in. What resulted was an endearing 13-minute interview where Gomez discussed her projects, nearly lost it laughing a couple times, and pretty adorably did Short’s makeup at the end.
When Short brought up Gomez’s level of fame, Gomez’s facial expression said it all. Short asked how odd it has been to be ‘this famous’ for so long, at only 31 years old.
